Gym Skills FAQ

General Enrollment & Tuition

Q: When can I join Gym Skills?
You can join Gym Skills at any time! The first month of tuition will be prorated if needed.

Q: How is tuition handled?
Tuition is processed on the 1st of each month. A credit or debit card must be on file. If you prefer not to use a card, you can pay with cash or check before the 1st. Late fees apply if payment is not received by the 5th.

Q: What happens if I want to withdraw from classes?
To withdraw, you need to provide a 30-day written notice via email to Cincinnati@GymSkills.com. Your child’s enrollment will end 4 classes after we receive the notice.

Q: Are refunds available?
No refunds are given for tuition or missed classes. If your child is ill or injured, call the front desk to arrange a credit.

Attendance, Check-In & Make-Up Classes

Q: How do I check in my child before class?
Parents must check in their child at the front desk prior to every class or event. For new families, this includes signing a waiver and confirming tuition payments.

Q: What happens if my child misses a class?
One make-up class is allowed per month. To schedule, you must inform the front office about the absence before the class and register for the make-up class within 45 days.

Q: Can missed make-up classes be rescheduled?
Missed make-up classes cannot be rescheduled. 

Q: What are make-up tokens, and how can they be used?
Make-up tokens are provided for missed classes with a reported excused absence. Tokens can be redeemed for make-up classes, clinics, or Friday Night Open Gyms. Make-up tokens expire after 45 days and cannot be transferred to siblings or other students, or rolled over to future months. Missed make-up classes cannot be rescheduled.

Q: What happens if my child’s class falls on a holiday when the gym is closed?

If your child’s class is canceled due to a holiday closure, you will receive a make-up token added to your Parent Portal.

Safety Policies

Q: Do I need to stay at the gym while my child is in class?
Yes, for children under 6 years old, a parent or guardian must stay in the gym lobby throughout the class in case your child needs assistance.

Q: Can parents watch their child’s class?
Yes, parents can observe from the lobby viewing areas. However, they cannot interrupt classes or enter the gym floor.

Q: What happens if my child is disruptive in class?
For safety, a disruptive child may be removed from class after repeated verbal warnings.

Class Requirements & Procedures

Q: What does my child need to wear?
Comfortable athletic clothing is required. Leotards are encouraged but not mandatory. Hair should be tied securely, and no jewelry or gum is allowed.

Q: Do I need to sign anything before class?
Yes, a signed waiver form is required. New families should check in at the front desk to complete this process.

Make-Up Classes & Severe Weather

Q: How are severe weather closings handled?
Closures due to severe weather will be announced on Facebook, Instagram, and the Gym Skills website under the Cincinnati location.

Discounts

Q: Are there discounts for additional classes or siblings?
Yes, you’ll receive a 10% discount on the lesser tuition for additional classes or siblings.




Champion & Got Skills Showcase

Q: What is the Champion Showcase?
This is a special event where students showcase their skills for family and friends during the last 10-15 minutes of class. Students receive ribbons as prizes, and parents are encouraged to take photos and videos. This is a free event. 

Q: What is the Got Skills Showcase?

The Got Skills Showcase is a special paid event where students perform structured routines to showcase their skills in a larger, event-like atmosphere. This is an exciting opportunity for students to demonstrate their progress and shine in front of family and friends.

Q: How is the Got Skills Showcase different from regular classes?

The showcase is structured like a larger event, with choreographed routines performed in front of an audience. Students work with their coaches during regular class times to perfect routines leading up to the event.

Holiday Closures

Q: When is the gym closed for holidays?


The gym is closed on the following dates:

New Years Day (no date) 

Easter Sunday

Memorial Day Weekend 

Juneteenth (No Classes this Day. Summer Camp will still run)

Independence Day (If Independence Day falls on a weekend, we will close for that weekend) 

Labor Day Weekend

Halloween (Trick or Treat Night) 

Thanksgiving (Wednesday - Sunday of Thanksgiving Week) 

Holiday Closure (Christmas Eve through New Years Day)
